Chris Shumate is a writer focused on bringing Christian values into story form for children and devotional form for adults.

He became a father in 2009. Before his son was born he decided that his child was going to have a father that many children do not have in the 21st century: a father that is present, loving, and engaged in his son’s life.

Teaching Biblical principles to the next generation is his desire, not only for his son, but for all children. He is a children’s ministry volunteer where he can be seen engaging children through storytelling and hosting relevant Biblical lessons on Sunday mornings. When Chris is not on stage in the children’s ministry he serves wherever he is needed.

In addition to being a writer, he is an accountant by education and training. His knowledge of accounting and ability to communicate allowed him the opportunity to speak to the Boys and Girls Club of Tennessee at its annual event in 2014. He spoke on budgeting and finance to leaders within several of Tennessee’s Boys and Girls Clubs. Chris was invited back for the All-Staff event in 2015, also.

He has also led Crown Financial studies at the church where he is a member.
