A Week of Halloween Stories - DAY 3

The Gaston Crew's Last Haunt - Chris Shumate

As part of a Halloween writing contest, and in the spirit of Halloween, I decided to write seven short children stories. Below is day three's. If you like my short story please let me know in the comments below. Each of these will be short, 100 words or less. It's the contest rules and it has been fun trying to make it work. Wish me luck!

The Gaston Crew, the toughest boys in the neighborhood, donned zombie costumes and headed into the darkness.

They snuck between trees, houses, and cars spooking children and parents when they jumped out screaming “Aaargh!”

Candy fell to the ground and went into the leader’s sack.

The crew grew tired and hungry while haunting families.

They chomped sugary treats in their clubhouse, mocking those they had scared.

A devilish figure jumped through the window shrieking.

The boys ran screaming.

A meek eight-year-old girl removed her mask.

“That’ll teach them,” she laughed, picking up the candy they left behind.
